For forty five years, Barnsdall Arts has been committed to providing outstanding, affordable arts education programs at schools, parks, libraries, museums, hospitals, social service agencies and community festivals. We conduct an impressive array of core programs and exhibitions distinguished by excellence, imagination and rigor Barnsdall Arts collaborates with educational, civic and cultural institutions to incorporate the arts into our community.

We teach children, families, and seniors that art matters in our lives; it enriches and expands our worlds.

Twelve years ago when I first became Executive Director, Barnsdall Arts /FOJACserved under 10,000 people. Our quality programs and exhibitions have expanded and developed substantially in the intervening years.

We doubled the number of people we served in classes and workshops:

2014-2015: 10,966

2015-2016: 20,300

The total number of people we served in programs and exhibitions also increased dramatically:

2014-2015 we served 162,800 with our programs and exhibitions

2015-2016 we served 202,700 with our programs and exhibitions

Leonardo Bravo, an outstanding consultant, continues to work with us to strategically plan improvements in our organizational and grant-writing capacity and to ensure sustainable growth.

Barnsdall Arts presents an exhibition selected from its UNESCO International Child Art Collection augmented with work from our students in Los Angeles.

Shelter is a universal human need. Our exhibit displays images created by children depicting shelter in rural and urban settings around the world.

ARTSPARK

2016: our "Art around the Globe" free workshops have expanded to eight recreation centers throughout the city: Bellevue (Silverlake) Cheviot Hills, Highland Park, Robertson, & State Street (Boyle Heights).

This unique program is supported by a generous grant from the Diller-von Furstenberg Family Foundation
